Car Tags are Coming
Car tags will be coming for anyone who registered in September; mailing takes 4-6 weeks. Reach out to cartags@blackhawkskiclub.org with questions.
Facilities Updates
The Hill 2 Tow rope is getting an update! The base is in, and ropes will be going up soon! Stay tuned for more facility updates in October.
Plus, please be on the look for emails about workdays. We are looking for help with annual wood splitting and string trimming. There are some one-off projects before the snow flies, too!
3rd Annual Family Orienteering Challenge!
Kick off your Thanksgiving Weekend with a Family (Rubber) Duck Hunt!
Wednesday, Nov 26 @ West Chalet, Pre-Registration Required
Follow clues around Blackhawk to find 10 rubber ducks and end with a team hill sprint up hill 2! The course is approximately 1.8 miles and will take about an hour to complete. We'll have snacks, drinks, and team prizes!

Nordic Ski Updates
Fall Combo – Register Now
We are bringing back the Fall Combo for 6 weeks in October and November on Sunday afternoons. This program is intended for youth in our winter programs to help kick start their activity before the snow flies. Designed for youth 5-12, but older youth are welcome to participate and help lead. Weekly workouts will be led by coaches and instructors from BART, Nordic Kids and Ski Jumping.
October 21 –Out There Nordic Cross Country Ski fitting
Wondering if your skis fit you well? Bring them by for an assessment with Out There Nordic. BNST members, this is your time to check your personal gear or to get sized for rentals. Use the QR code from the flier in the West chalet to sign up.
BNST (Blackhawk Nordic Ski Team)
Registration began for returning skiers on 9/9. Middle School ski team (grades 5-8) and high school ski team (grades 9-12) begin practice in November. Email alysa.hinde@blackhawkskiclub.org for questions about the high school team and amy.grunewald@blackhawkskiclub.org for questions about the middle school team.
Biathlon Updates
Biathlon fall practice season is starting up! Youth practices (for Junior and Senior teams, no Developmental team practices) are being held Sept 16-Oct 21, Tuesday nights, 5:30-7pm. Cost is $5 per practice. Please let Todd, Joe, and Dave know a day or two before practice if you will be attending and need use of a club rifle. Masters practices will be Wednesday nights, 5:30-7pm. Contact Ian Olson for more details about Masters.
Upcoming fall running races will be Oct 12 and Nov 9. There will be availability for racers without any previous experience or equipment to participate. So, if you're interested in trying out biathlon, these will be a great opportunity! Email Todd or Josh for details.
Winter season signups are happening now. Please contact Todd and Josh before signing up an athlete for the developmental team.

Mountain Biking Updates
The near-final version of our trail map is here, created by Reid Watson, a member of our summer Trail Crew. A big thanks to him and to Mike Dobrient for their hard work and dedication to making our trails safer and more enjoyable by all.
Reminder: Women's Fall Mountain Bike Rides
Meet at the West Chalet at 6pm on 9/24 and 10/22 for a no-drop ride around Blackhawk! Women will self-select into skill groups and ride trails based on abilities. Some groups may also ride over to the Middleton trails, based on skill level. Hope to see you there!
Fall Ski Jumping Reminders
Register for classes now, and email jumping@blackhawkskiclub.org with questions!
Intro to Fall Ski Jumping Tuesdays, 6:15-7pm, 9/16-10/21. Jumpers should be dressed and ready to jump at 6:15 p.m. Lessons canceled due to weather will be made up on Thursdays when possible.
2025 Fall Ski Jumping Team practices are Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:45-7pm, 9/9-10/30. Soccer and warm-ups 5:45 to 6:10. Jumpers should be dressed and ready to jump by 6:20 p.m.
