Interested in joining the Blackhawk Ski Patrol? We still have space in our toboggan training class, which starts Monday, December 11!
In this fun class, you'll refine your ski or snowboard skills, learn how to safely transport a patient down the hill, and meet awesome new people!
Classes will be held on Monday evenings from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and will last approximately ten weeks, with an on-hill exam at the end.
If you've ever thought about patrolling, now is the perfect time to get involved. Toboggan training is the first set of skills you'll need in your journey to become a ski patroller.
Patroller benefits include:
-
Give back to the sport most of us are intensely passionate about
-
Learn and get certified in first aid and safety through Outdoor Emergency Care classes
-
Improve your skiing or snowboarding abilities
-
Make friends and share in the camaraderie of caring people that make up our patrol and club
-
Enjoy the many perks of being a member of Blackhawk Ski Patrol, including a reduced family membership to Blackhawk Ski Club
-
Enjoy membership benefits of The National Ski Patrol, including continuing education, discounts on outdoor gear, and discounts at some ski resorts
The time commitment for being a Blackhawk Ski Patroller is much less than other area Ski Patrols in our area, making it a great option for those who want to be a Ski Patroller, but have less time available for this volunteer commitment.
If you are interested in becoming a patroller or would like more information, please email Rob Kudrle, Blackhawk Patrol Director, at skipatrol@blackhawkskiclub.org.
