Nordic and Biathlon Racing at Blackhawk 12/14, 12/15, possibly 1/4

Our middle and high school Nordic ski teams will be conducting a Blackhawk Team-only race on Saturday, December 14, at 2pm. The Wisconsin Biathlon Race Series opens on December 15 at Blackhawk and crosscountry trails will be closed from 8:30am to 13:30pm. If Elver Park does not have enough natural snow for MadNorSki to host their race on January 4, Blackhawk is the backup location, and trails will be closed in the morning. The next biathlon event at Blackhawk will include two days of racing on January 25 and 26. Thank you for supporting our youth members!

Biathlon Updates

Winter biathlon has gotten off to a great start. Mark and Joe have been busy getting all Blackhawk biathletes certified under the USBA's new Basic Rifle Safety program. All biathletes must complete this course in order to participate in practices and races. The Wisconsin Biathlon Race Series opens on December 15 at Blackhawk. Thanks to Casey, Rick and all the snowmakers for their efforts in snowmaking! There are nine biathlon races scheduled in Wisconsin this season. Many of our athletes will finish off the season with Nationals in Bozeman, Montana, at the end of March. The next biathlon event at Blackhawk will include two days of racing on January 25 and 26. This is a regional race and will attract racers from Minnesota, Michigan and other midwestern states. Come out and cheer for our Blackhawk biathletes.

November 27 Orienteering Challenge A Success!

Big thanks to Rick and Kelsey for help at registration, to Henaks, Mike Lucas, and Paul Rogovich for helping with our aid station, and to Casey for thoughtfully getting the course paths cleaned and cleared.
