Welcome to Winter!
On behalf of the Blackhawk Ski Club Board of Directors, welcome to the 2019-2020 Winter Season! Blackhawk has approximately 500 annual memberships and 500 seasonal mountain biking memberships, representing a total of about 3,000 members! Our unprecedented growth these past 5 years has presented new challenges and opportunities.
In early September, we signed a contract with Kurt Stein to become our first ever Executive Director and Club Manager (click here to read more). Kurt has been extremely busy assessing the needs of the Club and tackling urgent projects to prepare for winter.
Now more than ever we urge members to become active and engaged at Blackhawk. Aside from Kurt and our contracted program coaches, we are 100% volunteer. Throughout Blackhawk’s 72-year history, the club has relied on the support of its members for everything from taking the trash out to stacking wood, and from helping maintain the trails to making snow. And let’s not forget our outstanding Ski Patrol! Volunteering is a great way to learn about the club and meet other members. We are working on doing a better job communicating with you about what is going on and where we could use some help. Please keep an eye out for emails and check our website and Facebook page regularly for updates. Did we mention how much fun our volunteers have? Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have a skill or talent you would like to share.
If you would like to become involved with leadership or help on one of our Committees, please email the board or attend one of our monthly meetings which are open to all members.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and we look forward to seeing everyone on the snow!
