Mountain Biking Plans for 2020

We have exciting plans for the 2020 Mountain Biking season, building on the success of our programs and trail building over the past 5 years.
  • Programs:
    • Youth Lessons: We're planning our 8th season to include over 100 kids in the summer of 2020.
    • Race Team: The NICA race team will continue in the summer of 2020, under the leadership of Dirk Horne.
    • Girls lessons: We're planning to pilot a small girl's only mountain bike lesson this summer.
    • Ninja Camps: We're planning three summer bike camps in June and August, and October, in partnership with
  • Trail Building and Maintenance: We are planning to improve and build trails, mostly in the Gully near the west chalet. We have a contract with Jeremy Witek and are in discussions with Chad Landowski. See the proposed map in the upper left of this page.
    • Improve the safety of the "Connector Trail" by building a new, one-way flow trail, from East-to-West, and convert the existing Connector Trail to a one-way (West-to-East). This will permit riders to ride from the East to West Trailheads safely. Chad Landowski may return to build this new trail.
    • Build a new intermediate downhill "flow" trail in the Gully. This trail has been flagged, and will replace the "Little Switchbacks."
    • Improve the existing "Island" trail that climbs in the woods between ski hills #3 and #4, making it an intermediate climb for riders who want more challenging climbing back to the West Trailhead.
    • Improve the existing "Expert Jump Line" in the Gully
  • Membership revenue: Our goal is to raise over $20,000 in memberships.
  • Donations: We have a goal to raise $20,000.
