Blackhawk Ski Club Welcomes Kurt Stein as Executive Director / Club Manager

Kurt Stein

The Blackhawk Ski Club Board of Directors is very excited to announce the hiring of Dr. Kurt Stein as Executive Director / Club Manager.  This brand new position is key to the continued growth and success of our Club. For those of you who may not be familiar with Kurt, he has deep history with the Club.

Kurt grew up at Blackhawk Ski Club.  At 4 years old, in the mid-1970s, he learned to ski jump here and has stayed connected with the Club ever since. As a member of the U.S. Ski Team, Kurt represented Blackhawk and Midwest Ski Jumping in the 1992 and 1994 Winter Olympics and numerous World Cups. He has spent countless hours in Olympic Training Centers and competition complexes around the world, so he knows how special a club like Blackhawk can be.

Kurt has spent the last couple decades coaching Blackhawk ski jumping, including coaching Anna Hoffman and Estella Hassrick - both current National Champions. He is also a leader on the ski jump rebuilding project.

After his ski career, Kurt went on to become a chiropractor with a focus on amateur, college level and pro/elite athletes, integrating functional movement with performance. As a small business owner, he understands all the various aspects of running an organization and how every single decision is important.

Some of Kurt’s initial priorities include a safe and clean atmosphere, as well as building up club membership and increasing volunteer opportunities. Kurt looks forward to meeting everyone and helping create great memories here at Blackhawk.

Feel free to email Kurt at with any questions, concerns, volunteering or help you need to enjoy the facility and all it has to offer.
